The short answer
AI SEO white label means your agency sells SEO and AI search work under its own brand, while a partner, a software product or your own AI workflows handle part of the delivery. The phrase covers AI-assisted SEO production and visibility in AI answers. Own the strategy and the reporting yourself, and white-label only the production you can check.
AI SEO white label means your agency sells SEO and AI search work under its own brand, while a partner, a software product or your own AI workflows handle part of the delivery. The client sees your name. The phrase covers two jobs that often get blurred together. One is AI-assisted SEO production. The other is visibility in AI answers like Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT. My advice is to own the strategy and the reporting yourself. White-label only the production you can check.
What white label SEO means
White label SEO is SEO work done by one company and sold by another under the seller's brand. The client never deals with the company doing the work. EcomRanker's white-label SEO page shows the standard setup. EcomRanker's team handles technical SEO, content, link building and local SEO behind the scenes. It works under NDAs and puts the agency's logo, company details and brand colors on the reports and dashboards.
The agency keeps the client relationship and sets its own price. The tradeoff is trust. You carry the client's confidence for work you did not do, so a weak deliverable from the vendor becomes your problem the day it ships.
What AI SEO is called now
AI SEO now goes by a few names, and the most common are answer engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO). Both describe the same goal. You want Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity to cite your client's pages when someone asks a question. Nightwatch's guide to white-label SEO reports treats AI citation share across large language models as a standard reporting metric, and it no longer frames that metric as an optional add-on.
The older meaning still sticks to the label too. Some vendors use "AI SEO" to mean SEO work produced faster with AI tools. When a vendor pitches AI SEO, ask which of the two jobs it means. Our SEO and AEO service page explains how we handle both.
Three ways to deliver AI SEO under your brand
An agency can deliver AI SEO under its own brand through a fulfillment vendor, white-labeled software, or AI workflows it runs itself. Each one moves the work to a different place.
A fulfillment vendor like EcomRanker does the SEO and hands you branded output. You sell, and the vendor delivers. This is the fastest way to add a service. It is also the one where you see the least of how the work gets done.
White-labeled software puts your brand on a vendor's tool. Nightwatch lets an agency apply its own branding so that exported PDFs, HTML reports and scheduled emails go out under the agency's name. 1minAI sells white-label AI writing software that an agency can rebrand and offer to clients. Your team still does the thinking.
Your own AI workflows are agents and prompts built around your process. They draft briefs, check pages, track citations and assemble reports the way your agency already works. Setup is slower. You own everything, though, including the method.
Which model I would choose
I would build your own workflows for the core SEO and AEO work, buy software for reporting, and use a fulfillment vendor only for overflow your team can review. AI search changes fast. If a vendor runs it as a black box, you cannot explain a drop in citations to a client who is asking you, not the vendor.
The cost of my approach is setup time and the need for someone on staff who understands search. An agency with no SEO lead at all should start with a fulfillment partner. That is the honest choice. Even then, someone on your team should read every deliverable before the client does.
Building those workflows is what we do in our agentic consulting service. We set up AI workflows that agencies run under their own name.
Can AI do SEO on its own
AI can do parts of SEO well, but it cannot run the whole job without a person who knows search. Drafting, meta descriptions, content briefs and audit summaries are good fits. Judgment is not. 1minAI sells white-label AI writing, and its own guide says SEO specialists stay responsible for search strategy, internal linking, quality control and editorial decisions. When the company selling the AI says that, believe it.
Practical rule
Let AI produce the first version. Let a person decide what ships.
Is SEO still worth it with AI answers
SEO is still worth doing, because AI answers are built from web pages that someone wrote, published and kept crawlable. On October 4, 2026, Google showed an AI Overview for "ai seo white label" that cited pages from Semify, FATJOE, Rocket Driver and others, plus a YouTube video. Every one of those citations points to content someone chose to publish and maintain.
What changed is the scoreboard. Rankings still matter. Being quoted inside the answer now matters too, and a white-label offer that ignores AI citations is selling half the job.
What a white-label AI SEO report should show
A white-label AI SEO report should open with leads and revenue, show AI visibility next, and push raw rankings to the back. Nightwatch's guide to white-label SEO reports cites a 2026 SEOFOMO survey that ranked revenue-tied reporting as the top priority for SEO leaders. The same guide describes a common pattern of agencies spending four hours per client report across ten clients while clients barely read the results.
Nightwatch's suggested order runs from an executive summary to business KPIs, then traffic and conversions, then AI visibility, with raw data in an appendix. It also recommends dropping domain authority scores and raw backlink counts unless a client asks for them. I agree with that order. A client who sees leads first and citations second understands what you did.
The report is also where the white label shows. If your client sees a vendor's logo before your own, the report undercuts the relationship it is supposed to protect.
Questions to ask a white-label AI SEO partner
Before you sign with any white-label partner, find out how it measures AI visibility, who checks the work, and what you keep if you leave. Ask these before you sign.
- Which AI answer engines do you track, and how often do you check citations?
- Who reads each deliverable before it ships, and what do they check for?
- Can I see the prompts and workflows, or only the finished output?
- If we part ways, do I keep the content, the reports and the tracking history?
- What do you change when Google or ChatGPT shifts how it picks sources?
A partner that answers all five plainly is worth a trial. A partner that avoids the third question is selling you output you cannot inspect.
